Anderson Jr. In 1970 Bud assumed the job of Wing Commander of the 355th TFW basedat Takhli, Thailand. He flew his last 25 missions piloting the F-105D called Old Crow IIin honor of his WWII P-51. In 1972 after 30 consecutive years of service with the USAFBud retired. Anderson had flown over 7,500 hours and was awarded over 25 medals andcitations. F-105D s/n 60-5375 was destroyed in a mid-air collision in 1974.
