Airbus performed the first transatlantic long-haul demonstration of formation flight named “Fello’Fly concept” with two Airbus A350 flying at only 3 kilometers apart, from Toulouse France to Montreal Canada. The concept is that the follower aircraft retrieve the energy from the wake of the plane flying in front of him. MSN1 and MSN59 were the 2 aircraft involved on that flight. F-WXWB(Flightlab), which is the model, was the leader aircraft followed by F-WMIL. Over 6 tons of CO2 emissions were saved on that trip.
